Description
Technically, gimp can be used to make anything that inkscape can, however, the reverse is not quite true. GIMP allows detail at the pixel level. On computer graphics only 90 and 45 degree angles are possible while still keeping a neat pixel pattern. This image could have been done in inkscape but it would have used anti-aliasing and created other colors. This picture is optimized for smallest file size. It uses a 1 bit color palette and has no transparency. GIMP allows changing these settings while inkscape does not.
So even though it's only 8 squares rotated 45 degrees and forming an octogon, you have to respect the two hours that went into perfecting this!!!!
So download it and zoom view it in your favorite image editor and tell me what you think!
