Description
In this AU, Sonic was the Guardian of the Master Emerald and Knuckles is the hero of Mobius.

When the Death Egg crashed on the floating South Island, Dr. Robotnik tried to convince Sonic he was an honest scientist. The Doctor even gave Sonic a pair of twins shovel claws as a peace offering.

Sonic was still hesitant to trust this outsider when suddenly a super charged, red echidna saw the two and immediately assumed they were in cahoots. Super Knuckles made quick work of the Eggmobile. Sonic could tell that this intruder was in a superform, A state of power he’d only read about from ancient writings. Before Knuckles could attack the hedgehog, Sonic used a fully charged spin dash combined with his knowledge of the chaos emeralds to knock the miracle gems right out of the echidna.

From this point on the events of the game with mirror the original Sonic 3 & Knuckles building up until a son might anticlimactic one sided battle between Hyper Knuckles & Sonic.
