So when I was playing Skyrim on my old PC earlier this year, I made the mistake of selling the armor I was wearing. Well, buying it back wasn't an option since it was now ten times more expensive than the price I got for it. So I just did some blacksmithing in my underwear. Picket naked. I make my character smith iron daggers to level him up to 100. Which is a surprisingly effective way to level up.

You'll need iron ingots and leather strips to smith the daggres. Then you can sell them all to the nearest Β blacksmith so it is also a good way earn gold.

Well, judging from your character, it must have been the heavy armour one. Those are the ones with this kind of helmet (btw, you can have the whole set for free, once you join the Imperial side).
And yes, accidentally selling the items you want is indeed sucks, happened to me a few times as well. One time I accidentally sold the Sapphire Dragon Claw; it cost me more than 2000 Septims to buy it back!
