Description More tiling fun. This one is a tweak of some parameters of a flame done for a monthly competition at Inner Traveller. Unfortunately I can't yet show that image until judging has been completed.

Apo 2.04 beta with some levels/contrast adjustments in Gimp

Tight render! I just can't seem to get this tiling thing down, but I'm still practicing.

Tiling, to me, is one of the most difficult things to do well. Practice certainly helps as it gives a better understanding of how to repeat patterns cleanly which you can then use for other flame types. It certainly isn't an easy learning curve though

Yeah, I'm starting to learn that. It seems that everything I tile looks the same. Still, I'm continuing to experiment.

This has been placed in scraps for the following reasons:

1. The insides of the spheres bleed past their defined border
2. The horizontal banding extends into the spheres.

I didn't like this (although the latter would give a transparency and layered effect which might be quite  )

A new (corrected) image has been uploaded

I'm jealous... you have managed to work out the essence of tiling my friend!

Hehe - only squared tiling. I will feel happier once I crack hex stuff too

I'd be happy to get anything near as gorgeous as your tiles... mine are definitely still a work in progress at this point!

Thanks mate. Actually I am rerendering this one as I think it can be tidied up a bit more - moving this version to scraps for now
