Description
I found out that a bird of prey display has been held at Powderham Castle, Devon over the last month and is due to end this Sunday. Always keen to hone my photography skills I paid a visit there today. This turned out to be a great day as I was able to get close to some magnificent birds, mostly from America. The display was held by Yarak Birds of Prey ([link] ) and I thank them for allowing me to get close and take the photos.Related content

I adore birds of prey. This is gorgeous. I'm in the process of painting a bald eagle but now I want to do this guy!

First time at Powderham. Never been to Drogo either I only went for the raptor display tbh but ended up seeing my second ever kingfisher too (very briefly). I didn't go into the castle and just wandered about the grounds so some might say it was an expensive walk about (at £7-95 for the ticket which did also allow me into the castle but I chose not to go). I would go back but with a macro lens for all the cool bugs etc I saw
Then again I can go to my nearest pond for free....
I'd say it's worth at least one visit.

So I'm guessing you arent a fan of photgraphing Gothic architecture . If I went I'ld probaly be making loads of pics of the castle for me to play about with editing ghosts and stuff in with photoshop when I am bored lol.
I like buildings, they aren't like animals, animals can sit still for 30 seconds and move exactly when you take a photo, it always happens with me... even my dogs do it and they are the laziest animals I have ever known lol.

hehe it's not that I'm not a fan. Just doesn't interest me atm. However, I'm not writing the idea off as there are a lot of potentially stunning images in photographic architecture. They can wait ...for now

I know exactly what you mean, these castles have been around for hundreds of years, so they can wait a few more .
