Figured I might as well post this here.

This is how Garrett and Asteria met. Which was, well, pure chance. They both just happened to find that the mirrors they had were magic mirrors connected to each other. And since they were younger they’d sit by those mirrors and talk to each other.
As for Asteria being able to “See” Garrett, Asteria was able to use magic (her being a witch and all) and finally cracked the case of only seeing her reflection in the mirror. So she can see Garrett, but since Garrett doesn’t have any magic powers to work with he can’t break that barrier.
