3ds max + vray (no plugins, just modeling tools, and some modifiers) and some simple photoshop postproduction

At first I didn't like the hard-to-read text, but on second viewing, I sort of enjoy how it melds into both the background solid color and the liquid forms at some points. Very nice experiment!
