You don't have to remember everything - that's why the guide exists.

You also don't have to do it all?

Yep! That's basically it.

Please comment on a piece in our gallery, if you would like to submit to the gallery yourself. Our minimum word limit is 200 words for 6-7 lines, if that makes sense.

No signing up - feel free to jump in and out!

"Add ProjectComment to your signature"
I'm not exactly sure what you mean by that like add the tag when I comment or ...?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

3wyl In reply to artycherries [2016-10-11 11:14:35 +0000 UTC]

If you could add the tag when you comment, that would let both the artist and the group know that you found their piece in our group.

Some people like to just add it to their signature instead, which is also fine.

So essentially this is make a comment and you will get a comment, which is awesome! I love to comment and I love to read peoples comments on my work. I am the definition of non-professional and I am really interested in the constructive criticism.

ProjectComment focuses on reciprocity, so yes, indeed! It is very much what you put into it is what you get out of it.

Thank you so much for commenting, and for your support!

angelXgrave In reply to ??? [2016-10-05 23:54:05 +0000 UTC]

so if i wanna critisize an artwork i gotta put your logo and say "(On behalf of  )" in the comments and i give my thoughts on the artwork?

cause the DON'T COMMENT! thing confused me abit

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

3wyl In reply to angelXgrave [2016-10-06 00:21:04 +0000 UTC]

Yes, that's right.

If a piece has already received a comment from a member in the group, then we ask not to comment, because there are pieces that haven't received comments.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

angelXgrave In reply to 3wyl [2016-10-06 01:43:06 +0000 UTC]

so basicaly if a member already gave his opinion on an artwork on your behalf i can't give mine but i can leave a nice, short comment?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

3wyl In reply to angelXgrave [2016-10-06 11:13:35 +0000 UTC]

It's up to you. We can't force you to comment or not comment, but we'd prefer for you to comment on another piece if you see there's already a huge comment or a few comments left by members of our group.

What do you mean by "Literary Correction Project"?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Tuntalm In reply to 3wyl [2016-10-03 17:05:57 +0000 UTC]

FirebornForm's project. The one where you and them corrected my "eye piece".
I believe it was called something like "literary correction", but maybe I am wrong

Well... the thing about a 200 word comment is that I'm very direct with what I say. When I critique things, I sometimes have a hard time getting to the 100 word threshold. I just dont know how to stretch a comment for 200+ words to be considered constructive. If you look for my longer comments, rarely do I make it longer than 100 words, simply because I just cant stretch a comment for that long. But they are still valid, right?

Topas90 In reply to Timeward [2016-09-30 21:21:51 +0000 UTC]

I have the same problem.
And actually I think it's better to get to the point fast and be concrete rather than to aim writing many words and struggling to get your message across.
I also learned to be concrete, "less is more" I'd say.

But I also get that there has to be a limit for the group, otherwise it would be hard to handle.

If you don't want to receive comments, you can comment however you like. It is only when you would like comments in return that we have limits.

We believe a person can be direct and concise, but still write 200 words. If you are open to working with a person on your comments/commenting, we have a list of people who would be more than willing to help you:

Comment Coach!ProjectComment is a group that provides Guaranteed & Constructive comments for the DeviantArt community. In order to support those efforts, we encourage everyone to write comments that are as constructive as possible. Because this is no easy feat, our admins are willing to support you in writing those constructive comments. So, if you are interested in improving your commenting to help others, consider contacting a comment coach for suggestions, advice and more!
