Game illustration work I did in 2013 for Clockwork Wars .More rhinos~! This time with some artillery. Gotta throw in a mature tag for the "decorations" along the grill...

Woah! Looks awesome and dangerous. I always had trouble doing vehicles and anything mechanical so this really impresses me. Any advice for designing mechanical stuff?

Well here's my (usual) process when it comes to vehicle illustrations:
But really the best thing to do is just practice, and... be curious about everything!
Study shapes drawing cubes, spheres, cylinders, cones in perspective and then shading them appropriately.
Study landmark product designs and military inventions and learn why it is they worked so well.
Study animals and human anatomy and see how Mother Nature gets things to do this or that.
I've been doodling machinery since high school and have been at it for about 10+ years, so even if it seems tough at first, it does come with mileage.
