I want one. XD The lighting and detail in the shades and subtle textures is so awesome, and the slight blur on the tentacles really adds to the motion and depth!

Subtle texture is always the way to go. Just enough to inform the viewer without being too much visual noise.

I'm going to say immensely impractical and was probably ridiculously good times drawing it. I'll bet you laughed the entire time you worked on this piece it's the perfect example of a megalomaniac's terror weapon from which to launch his attack on the city, hold it for ransom and give out blustering Bwa ha ha ha from.
