The sketch is awesome and the only thing about the cleaned up version is that it seems unfinished. I guess that would be where the color comes in. But good job on both!

This is an absolutely amazing image, You've got some great lineart skills here.
I like them both equally I think, they both have their charms. The left because it is neater, crisper, and the right because of the opposite

I feelin the rough one more as well. When I think Metal Gear, the first thing that comes to mind is Yoji Shinkawa's and Ashley Wood's sketchy styles just as Ryan mentioned. These are both sic though. Great comp!

Doing good man, how about you? I can see what you mean. Sometimes it's nice to see characters in another style. We see these characters drawn by the creators so much, it gets burned into our heads. Much like Capcom(SF) and the Udon SF comic, they really stay loyal to the Capcom style, but what was cool was that they would have varied artist do different covers and side stories in a different style which is quite refreshing.

How awesome! Great job. I like it alot. I think the clean version is very wonderful because I love yoru line work. but I also think the red is very eye catching. Maybe if there was a way to do both? I dunno.

Cool so far you might be the only one thus far that likes the clean version. Every one else like the Unclean because it has something the other one does not. Not that I don't appreciate that...because I am glad they like it still ya know? But hey man so long as they loved the whole piece in it's integrity it's all good with me!

you know what. I had ask one of my friends who's a very talented colonist do it for me, I even told her that I would pay her for it but I guess she's been too busy. I am not very good at the whole photo shop coloring...but she would make that sucker pop big time! So...I have no Idea. Unless there is anyone here on deviant art who would be up to it, and I would gladly pay...but I mean I don't want something half ass you know what I mean. if they do good work they will get good pay if not. then I'll look for someone else.
But yes back to the original comment, well, I am glad you like the OG version. I'll admit I favor the sketching process my self. But sometimes there are finishes that are just Damn SWEET!

i second that. not that the cleaned up one isn't super spiffy er anything, but the red rugged one is very thermal, very Yoji Shinkawa.
maybe if you added a dirty texture to the cleaned up one? (i know that sounds counter productive but give it a try!)

I think I like the "uncleaned" version better, but I was always one who dug the messier sketchy kind of art. More personality.
