Description
Big file is big.SO.
Okay. I get the feeling I'm gonna end up regretting posting this.
But anyway.
To begin, I'm sorry for any horrible grammar mistakes. This file was so big that it was making my computer lag majorly. Seriously. It took like 10 minutes to save the unflattened version.
So I didn't have the patience to go and fix some mistakes.
Anyway.
A step-by-step walk through of how I go about making comics.
I italicize "I" because this is just the way I do it. I am not saying this is the best or correct way at all. I am in fact welcome to any suggestions to ways I can better my process.
This is simply the order I go in making my comic pages (though To the Dogs is a little bit different since I shade it via pencil and color it).
I know there's a lot of comic tutorials out there, but I don't think many of them actually mention stuff like outlining, scripting, and rough drafts, three things which are very important to a comic (especially if you dun plan on it being a short comic).
I know it's a huge freaking wall of text and, lol, I don't think I would read this if I was watching me. xD
But I hope some people find it helpful or useful in some way.
And also, remember, I'm welcome to suggestions as well.
Oh.
And here is the link to download the good comic fonts like I mentioned: [link]

How do you clean your page once you inked it (in photoshop)?

Um, do you mean after I've scanned it?
Press ctrl L and play with the levels. That'll clean it up.

Not that I know of. I just checked the link and it's working for me. Maybe try a different browser? Sometimes that makes a difference.

I have two questions:
What Computer Program(s) do you use?
What Inking Pens do you use?

Photoshop, though I think most programs could do stuff like this.
And uuh. Micron, though I might have been using something different when I made this. Same result, though.

As it says, it's mostly done traditionally. But the digital parts are in photoshop, though with a scanner, I imagine most art programs can fill in black and shades of gray.

I'm pretty sure I explain it in the tutorial. I just use photoshop.
Are you asking how I specifically make the panels though?

Thanks for this!
I wonder wondering if you were inking by hand or by computer... but it appears you do both!

I found this very useful. I will be sure to keep some of your tips in mind when I finally get the time to script/ink my own comic ideas. Oh, and what program do you use to add bgs/final touches digitally?

Glad it was helpful. And I used photoshop for the digital parts.

This is so helpful. I have a couple comics/manga planned, but most of the books I bought never went into the detail of how to write/plan anything. T_T;; So I was kinda at a loss until I read this. Thanks for making it!
