Description
The Fall (or "De Val") in Dutch, was a piece a drew in 1978 as an experiment with perspective. I drew the piece in perspective, and continuously chnged my direction of drawing it. Although succesful, there was an unexpected side effect, nobody was aware of in the beginning. Even though I received an 8.5 (that is very high as in the Netherlands you receive awards from 1 to 10), and was displayed at the wall of art, something was awry...

This piece of art was banned from the school wall by the art teacher, not because he disliked it, but because many people became nauseated by it.
Especially when viewing this piece in an approaching clockwise rotating fashion.

When doing this, while concentrating upon the perspective in the art, vertigo will come up in most viewers....as if you are falling into the picture.
I don't know why, but this vertigo caused the nausea in many viewers.

The art was stuffed in a binder and forgotten for a long time. Moisture, time, erosion damaged it somewhat, and even though I could remove some of these damages in this scanned version, I could not remove them all, without damaging the piece itself even worse.
Yet still I can't let this piece become forgotten...so here i present...; The Fall
