Description
She awoke one morning at two years old,Just able to walk,
She knew who he was.
She wandered around whispering his name,
She was swept into her mother's arms, tears rolling down her cheeks.
"Daddy's gone."
She saw her daddy,
Peacefully asleep,
She ran, As fast as she could, reaching out towards her protector's arms.
She was almost to him,
but a woman clothed in black swept her off of the floor.
"Your daddy's gone."
She saw him still, sleeping in this strange room.
People spoke and everyone cried.
She was too young to know why.
The time had come when they took her pappa in his box,
She continued crying as they walked alongside of her daddy's new bed,
reaching for it,
hoping for that warm embrace.
But... It never came.
They lowered his box,
Like she had seen her grandma plant Tulips,
She began to feel desperate and kept crying "dadda!"
Never again to see her daddy. Now she doesn't know.
To have a protector.
To have a close friend.
To have warm open arms.
To have....
A dad.
