Description "Hey"
"Hey"
She looked tired. She had bags under her eyes, which were red from crying. But even then, all he could see was beauty- even the dark bags and bloodshot eyes seemed to add to her beauty. Goth, his friends called her, depressed. Scary. But he knew the truth. She was lonely. Lonely, because it's impossible to not be when everyone around you thinks that you're a freak. Because it's impossible for someone to get to know you when they assume that colored highlights and dark eyeliner means you're depressed, or angry. And then, those lies become true. You start to feel the way they say you feel, because that's the only way you can feel when you're isolated and laughed at. He knew. He knew, because he had been one of them. He wanted more than anything to be one of them. And he had been. But in doing so, he had nearly destroyed the only person in the small, closed off community who wasn't afraid of them- who wasn't afraid to wear dark colors, who wasn't afraid to highlight her hair, who wasn't afraid to cry. The others had laughed. They had wondered aloud how a simple notebook could be so important. But he knew. He had known since he had done the same thing they did. He had known since he laughed off what he had thought to be a joke. He had known since he said no. So all he could do now was hug her tighter than he had hugged anyone else before and say
"I'm sorry"
"I know"
"Thank you"
"You're welcome"
"I love you"
"I've loved you since you said no"
