Bumper is a henchman from a rebellion era campaign I wrote. Drawn in Paint.net and converted to vector with Vector Magic.

You should think about your background a little bit. It's fine to have it as a simple color, such as the one you have, but rather add a gradient to it. It is all about contrast. Have the darker portion of the gradient butt up against the highlights of your character and the lighter portions should butt up against the shadows. This will help emphasize the light source as well as the figure. Also, I would consider using a color in the background that is complimentary to the colors of the character. Play around with it a bit, but a dark purple or magenta would be nice. Complimentary color schemes can often be an easy way to attract the eye to the focal points of your piece. That's all I got.
