Description
Well fiery looking streaks anyway. More fireworks stuff. Taken with "fireworks" settings. Still not sure how to use it correctly.Related content

Thanks! I was just experimenting with this setting having never really used it before. Normally I delete a photo if I don't get the effect I desire, but here I thought it looks cool.

The "fireworks" setting leaves the shutter open longer. This allows the camera to capture more light. It works best if you can use a tri-pod to minimize how much the camera is moving during the shot.
Try experimenting with stationary lights. Like, a Christmas light, or a lamp post. Put it on the "fireworks" setting and take a shot. Move the camera wildly about as you take it and you should be able to see a streak of light (probably wiggly) instead of a single light.
Next, try holding the camera as still as possible and taking a picture of the same object.
It's fun to experiment with new settings. That's how I learned about our camera. By messing with the settings. My husband (who actually took a few photography classes) helped me out a great deal when I asked him to.
