My sona is one of my only characters that I actually enjoy drawing so I draw him a looot, but I just realized I haven't posted anything of him in months?? A shame!! A crime!!! His design has changed juuust enough from his ref sheet that he's now in need of a new one hnnng
This isn't a vent I just wanted to draw a different expression and mess around with some colors! O: ALSO no fan art friday this week, honestly I'm just too tired fdsjakhfdasjl. I'll try to do something bigger for you guys next week tho?

Seriously though, dude I've been loving these portraits! Some are emotive and some are simply artistic, but they've all been really beautiful. I notice you've been experimenting in places, and some have surprisingly neat results such as the color in this one. My gut reaction is "YIKES ALL THAT RED", but the screentone and attitude yank it right back into Good Stuff territory. You have such a good style, Jay!
By the way, I'm really liking this 'sona fella. He seems like a good dude with some bad problems. Does he have a name, and any development (like a character)? When we become disconnected with our main art projects, as you have and to some extent myself as well, it's important to keep something that's personal. Hope he sticks around! <3

He just looks a little different each time I draw him, I think one of the reasons he's easy for me to draw is I'm fine with his design being flexible haha!

Bit, that's his name! I remember his ref and face now; Bit's a character we only occasionally saw until now, but I really like how emotive and flexible he is. That certainly leaves plenty of wiggle room for experimenting. <3 Do you have any plans or development on him as a full character, or are you going to keep him more "open-ended"? I like him lots and can't wait to see more of him!

I WAS SURE YOU WOULD haha! I always forget there aren't that many pieces of him in my gallery, I really do draw him a bunch but those doodles rarely make it here. He's developed in the sense that he's my mascot, I'm not planning on putting him in a story or anything though. I made him to be developed but also open ended and flexible, I like him that way haha!

Aww home work is going well, thanks for asking! We just went mano a mano with the tree-root-in-sewerline problem we were warned about, but $500+ and four weeks later it's finally wrapping up. When you buy a fixer-upper, the first year is spent fixing problems as the seasons bring them. I hope summer's trial involves a lot less mess, haha...! /w;\
That's such a good idea, keeping a character flexible especially as a mascot. It's easier to toss them into situations or step into their shoes for personal work. I'm happy you found a character that fills this role well!

Aaah, the joys of homeownership.... We're going through a string of home improvement stuff ourselves right now so I can feel your pain haha! Glad to hear that plumbing problem is fixed though, roots in the line can be a real issue *glares quietly at our main line*, may that $500+ be all you ever have to spend on it friend! And hopefully summer doesn't bring any big issues! ;o;/
It definitely does, he's my one character that isn't attached to anything! It makes him easy to draw without thinking about it too much haha!

OH MY GOD JAY YOU WOULD NEVER BELIEVE THIS. Just as we finish one major problem, another falls into our lap: literally, in the form of a fallen tree! Luck was half on our side this time and it only damaged our gutters but wowsers I cannot catch a break.
