Been picking away at this for a day or so! Might as well throw it up, right? I've still got a loooong way to go when it comes to backgrounds, but at least I attempted it!

Two more (very important) characters from Ash's backstory. In front is Mason, Ash's great grandfather. Not a nice guy, and an even worse parent. Battle hungry, looses a leg in the war, basically signs his (and his descendant's) souls over to an enchantress to get it back. He gets immortality out of the deal too, although there are some not-so-great conditions :V His animal form is a Panthera Atrox (which, depending on where you look, is either the American Lion or Naegele's Giant Jaguar. The last people I talked to at museums were all sure it's a jaguar BUT now apparently there's DNA evidence pointing toward it being a lion?? I dunno, I'm going with a jaguar. It's my story, no one can tell me what to do > )
(ALSO I AM VERY TEMPTED TO MAKE HIS MARKINGS PALE LIKE A STRAWBERRY LEOPARD)

Behind him is his son, Alexander, Ash's grandfather and Kent's father, but none of them really know that this is their biological relationship. Although it's obvious they're all related, Ash and Kent were both test tube babies so their linage is definitely questionable O: Alexander also raised Ash, it's never revealed who his biological parents are. And by "not revealed" I mean "it's irrelevant, don't worry about it". He's a very sad guy who really just feels like he's lived a full life and wants to die, but can't thanks to the whole immortality thing. He can shapeshift into a tiger (not gonna dig too deeply into subspecies because it doesn't really matter BUT he's definitely one of the smaller ones, I always look at Malayan tigers when I draw him)

I was trying to capture a particular mood and just mess with colors. I definitely lost patience with that background and ended up spamming a lot of premade brushes, which is definitely cheating :V The scale between the characters is definitely off too, Alexander should definitely be a little smaller since I imagine he's somewhat younger here? Even full grown though Alexander is quite a bit smaller than his dad. Oh well :S
