I added another story to my roster at the beginning of the year, which brings me up to a grand total of 6. I've only introduced you all to three of them (Ruin, Brother Oh Brother and Plague), I'd like make it a point to introduce the rest eventually haha! Half of my stories have shapeshifters, and I have a feeling soon it may get hard to tell who goes where, SO now I'm tagging them! Hopefully that'll help :VI've slowly been finalizing designs for a lot of minor characters that have been around for years. Normally this isn't the kind of stuff I would share since it's pretty boring, but I just noticed I haven't really uploaded much this year! So here you go!
ANYWAY this is Kenneth Hartford (or Kent for short)! He died at a young age and was brought back by necromancy, which is generally a bad idea. He's a creepy dude, but that's not really his fault :S His body is usually rotting but I decided to draw him in one piece today! I had a lot more written here but then I realized I really need to introduce some other characters before I start talking about this guy, so maybe another time C:>
I've mentioned before that Ash's bio is the longest of all my characters, that's mostly because of his family history. This guy here is technically... Ash's uncle I guess??? But I always call him Ash's half brother so we can stick with that :V Their family is arranged so bizarrely omg.
I didn't really have a solid design in my head for this guy so it was nice to just doodle and see what happened! Although I'm not sure what his animal form is now, it started out as a pure blooded bear-dog (amphicyon) but now it definitely looks like there's some gorgonopsid and maybe some eusmilus in there??? He's supposed to be an artificial elemental too, but I haven't figured out which element fits him yet, I'm open to suggestions! Whatever it is has to be a match for Ash's electricity!
I may adjust some things as I lock in the rest of the Hartfords, but in general I'm pretty happy in the direction he's going! I'd like to make animal form's silhouette a little more extreme, but I can do that another time!

Kent here is so cool! Great character so far, and I'm more eager than ever to hear more about the surrounding characters- especially after hearing hes related to Ash. <3 I'm loving his design both in human and beast form, the contrast is there yet both shifts have a sort of "stuffy" air to them if that makes any sense. He looks like he could be a rightful snot, though perhaps it's his outfit. Hahaha! He probably isn't so "clean looking" when he's more rotted, yeesh... ;o;
So this story falls into the same universe as Ash and Chayse? Very awesome! It's fun to have several stories in one 'verse, that way one story's development washes over into the others. Half the worldbuilding effort! Aww man, this is just so cool. Can't wait to hear more, Jay, you're doin' an awesome job!!

YEAH THEY'RE CRAZY LOOKING. I'm still deciding if I want to use thylacosmilus instead, their skulls are pretty cool too haha!)
Aaah thank you so much! Stuffy is an excellent way to describe him, most of the time even when he's rotting he's kept pretty trim and neat haha!
It's kinda turning out that way, since the main characters are always breaking into smaller groups haha! Tbh Ash's backstory and family history could really be a story by itself :V

I am 2000% behind Ash's family backstory being a novel in itself. 👌👌👌 (IT'S AGONY ISN'T IT?! So many untold sub-plots!)
Aww but hey you are super welcome, I'm always impressed by your characters! Love the concept of a stuffy rotting man, it's just such a fun and fresh idea. Can't wait to see more of this fella!

Amazing, so he's technically undead? Does he still have to eat and breathe and stuff? O: how does he cope with.. rotting.. a little?
Necromancers, yes! Any story with necromancers in it is a good story in my book, haha! Even if necromancy always ends bad! XD
I love how he's a shapeshifter, his animal form looks so unique! O: I honestly didn't even know bear-dogs were a thing haha, learned something new today. ^_^ The anatomy and his colour scheme is amazing! <3

YEAH KINDA. His family's curse of immortality is keeping him somewhat alive while the spell that resurrected him is starting to fail, so he's in this weird inbetween space where he's not quite undead but not really fully alive either? He does still have to eat and breathe, and even if he didn't his adopted mother would probably force him to. She's the one who brought him back from the dead, and she really wants him to seem as normal as possible! He doesn't cope well with it all, and it doesn't help that he died as a child but was brought back to life almost 20 years later, so mentally he's still a kid. He also has this sort of itching, buzzing feeling under his skin all the time, and he usually ends up scratching himself so hard to try and make it stop that he rips his skin open :V YEAH NECROMANCY IS PRETTY COOL but you're right, it never goes well XD
Aaah I'm really glad you like him. And heh heh yay, prehistoric mammals are so amazing! *w*
THAT'S GOOD TO HEAR he's supposed to look sorta sad and disoriented (and a little spooky haha!). Poor guy, I'm starting to feel kinda bad for him. Even though he's been around for years I've gotten kinda attached to him over the last month or so haha!
