It's a silly picture but my friend likes it! The chicken is modelled after one of my pet chickens. She was very lovely though she passed away earlier this year.

It is sad, but sometimes chickens just pass on once they get to a certain age. I was very happy to have her while she was around though.

I have three chickens. One of them is the sister of the chicken who recently died. The other two are new arrivals who are ex-egg farm chickens. They weren't battery hens so they didn't get debeaked or anything, but they are a bit scruffy from living with so many other chickens. In winter they should moult and get a nice new set of feathers!

For now the sister chicken is having fun bossing her new friends around, as she used to be lower in the pecking order but has now moved up.

My chickens are called Alecto, Megaera, and Tisiphone, after the Furies in Greek mythology.

They are very nice to have as pets They are full of personality and are nice for cuddling. Also, they lay eggs!

...I know my mother had one when she was a girl; her name was "Coca" (chicken's name, not my mothers' ) and, as long as I know, she was very intelligent and cute... (...yes, the chicken, but my mother too!... )
