Well its time to adress this thing

Ive been wanting to come up with a concept for this for such a log time uhhh yeah no even back when i was in the fandom i never really thought her whple "steal powers from other people" schtick made a lot of sense
And especially naming it as "Rabdophobia " like idk im not a fan of it
I mean if you are good for you this is just my opinion but eeeghhh shes so... OP

What i came up with as an alternative to this is instead of stealing powers maybe she like.
Nullifies them i think ??
Its not that she makes everythig powerless , attacks still deal damage but its 50x weaker and she basically stands a chance against it

I imagine once the forcefield is set in place thats where the nullifying begins and it kinda like. Sucks the power out of you too , and it goes to betty which will greatly benefit her
BUT to balance things out Rabdophobia backfires on her too because even though shes absorbing YOUR magic, it takes her a while to really feel all that , the forcefield screws her over too so her magic attacks are just as weak and she has to get smarter + use little magic for combat to take on her opponents, probably has to resort to throwing hands (sorry i just got the mental image of betty punching gaster in the face its a little funny)

so basically what im sayig is the spell sucks for you both lol but gives her a huge boost in the long run long after shes out of the forcefield
And as for the victims of this spell, well, it drains your magic out and you need to recover and get it back so good luck with that (im looking at you Gaster)

I mean i think itd make more sense if it was written this way bc its Literally called Rabdophobia, its the Fear of MAGIC, so like, doesnt it make sense to make it disappear, thats what fear pushes you to do right it makes the scary things disappear
By nullifying magic it saves betty from life threatening situations and i think thats more of the point of the spell, the magic absorption is just a bonus

It still causes a whole lot of soul power though , yeah im keeping that concept in (so she gets pale and dead after using it, also she shakes a lot shes scared absolutely shitless when she uses this)

I dont know ive been thinking of it, i probably made it more complicated than it should be but uhhh whatever a second draft wont hurt, my brain has turned into a jelly tart from all the wizard redesigning so , just take this and this art i did earlier today yipee
