Another Artesia fan here!
Read all the comics and bought the excellent book- The Barrow - great twisty plot.Β Looking forward to Volume 2 in August.
Great picture - as noted below- you have surpassed the master in your depiction of the diverse faces of the cast of characters. Would be fun to sit down with the source material and try to name them all

Nice work. So much details!
Why can't Mark Smylie complete the fourth book? Man.

You could always drop him a line. He did write a book you should check out called The Barrow. Great read. I enjoyed that Artesia wasn't the center of attention. Adds more dimension to his world.

I wouldn't know where. I tried the publisher and I tried the dedicated website and got no response.

Unfortunately it's not. The Fourth Book of Dooms never entered production stage. There's only a few isolated comics, I believe (each Book of Dooms appeared as a set of individual comics at first).

Hey,
Wow, great Artesia-fan art! It is a shame that there are not more out there - you'd think that Artesia is a wonderful topic! Thank you, therefore, very much for this excellent piece of art. You are really true to Mark Smylie's artwork and characters - with one exception: In your picture, one can figure out who's who ... If you know what I mean.
I am also waiting impatiently that he gets to finish Artesia's story, but I have little hope - it's been such a long time since he published something new.
Best regards
Miou Q.

I'm surprised too! It's one of a handful of fantasy that I would gladly continue reading. Well thought out and developped. I just finished reading The Barrow and it's a great addition to the Artesia world. I'm more optimistic concerning Artesia's future. I believe we'll see the fourth book finished soon. Whether it goes passed though that though...

Hey!
Yes, definitely! I enjoy Artesia because of the rich background and the beautiful, exotic yet familiar world which Smylie created. It is fantastic, but feels well grounded. I even bought the roleplaying book "Artesia - Adventures in the Known World" and that means something (I play pen & paper, but am not fond of reading source books - it's too tiresome and I never remember the rules. But "Artesia AKW" I enjoyed so much because of the background information the book provides on the world and its people and myths.
Thank you so much, by the way, for pointing out "The barrow" - I wasn't aware of the book, but I promptly ordered it from Amazon. I can't wait reading it, though I have a lot of unread books on my shelf ...
Hm, just let's hope that Smylie gets back to working on Artesia ... I don't really share your optimism, but one can hope!
Best regards
Miou

I soo want to read the stories! The art is magnificent (even if the faces often blend together, it seems). What's your opinion on the storyline (I haven't read any yet).
ThisΒ pic is a great sort of "bright version" of Smylie's style, imho.

They're very good stories. Really well thought out world, thorough history. I wish Mark would get around to finishing it. I'm waiting for his new book to come out next month.

Thank you. Mark Smylie's work is really based on some real accurate armour. I felt I owed it to him to get that right.
