She's mellowed out a lot since she's remarried, but it still bothers me when I hear homophobic things in my family. =C My Mom always picks on me about it, and is always all, "Oh, you only support gay rights because of your gay friend Clay!" Uh... Yeah. Duh. maybe if she actually had gay friends, too, she'd see that they're not monsters trying to destroy civilization as we know it - they're just people trying to find the something - or some-ONE - who makes them happy. I'm not going to get mad about them over that - even if I disagree. That's just... stupid.
If there were Islamic people trying to enforce rules of THEIR religion in America, we'd be up in arms. Why is this different? It really BAFFLES me, and it makes me SO mad that the Christians I associate myself with would act so... ignorant. Erg. >.<;;;

ok. this guy made a stamp saying stuff about Equal rights. well you commented about being religious and wanting equal rights for gays too. and how your parents are homophobes (or at least your mom). then i said that is completely true and you are a good person for looking past religious beliefs and wanting their rights instead of what the Bible or your church tells you.

Well, that's not really what I said. While going against gay rights IS a church thing, I think it's debatable about whether it's a Bible thing or not. To me, the most important rule in the Bible is the Golden Rule - treat others like you'd like to be treated yourself, and to love your neighbor like you'd love your own. Including sinners. I just don't understand HOW someone could love non-Christians to death, but suddenly it's a WHOLE nother story if they're gay. I also don't see how other cultures forcing religious beliefs on people are viewed as wrong, butt it's PERFECTLY okay if we do it. IT doesn't make sense. It makes us seem like bigots when we contradict ourselves like that. In fact, I believe bigots are the only ones leading these "modern day crusades", and it makes me mad that the entire Christian belief system is getting blamed in result. Retards
So, yeah. I don't "go against the Bible" or whatever - I just interpret it differently. There ARE Christians who have a brain, ya know. XD That's probably why you never hear about us. It's always funner to laugh at idiots like Rush Limbaugh or Glenn Beck who spam our interwebz with ridiculous comments and label everyone who's Christian\Republican\BOTH with them. Ya know?

oh yeah i get ya on the whole loving a non christian thing. but what i truly believe is good about you is the fact that you treat others like humans despite their beliefs and differences! thats what everyone should do, look past differences and love each other for who we are.
forcing religious reliefs just proves that it may be a bad idea to join because they want something from you. and to tell you the truth a lot of people are hypocrites and bigots, thats what sucks about the world or at least the people inhabiting it.
i guess i was wrong or at least didnt say it correctly when i said you go against the bible, i mean really it has been thousands of years ago right? it cant be easy to translate their language to ours. in fact its possible the "Interpreter" might've added some of his own things in the book... (

ok, i only got the webcam cus it looked cool! I LIKE DOMO!!!! im not very political if you ask me. it just messes things up for others. to tell you the truth i am Agnostic, i think that if god does or doesnt exist then it really wouldnt change the way i live. im a good person because i know it makes a difference in a good way for others. im sorry if you dont like me for what i believe but hey thats just me.

Nah - I have plenty of agnostic friends. Seems pretty logical to me. You can't prove that God exists, and can't prove that he doesn't so I think it takes a lot of maturity to sit on the fence and argue both sides. XD
