Description 1:28
The time glows
in fourteen green lines
and two dots.

Squares of sodium-vapour light
form a rug on the dirty floor
of a quiet, dark box.

A peanut-buttery continent
surrounded by white ocean
is slowly torn apart.
Islets remain,
floating dangerously close
to the edge of the world.

Fourteen lines change to thirteen.
A figure stands,
sighs,
and heads to the couch.

The lengths aren't awkward at all, I reassure you.
May I say, I really liked the image in the third stanza...I don't know, it had a lot of touch-imagery with me and the peanut butter. XD

Thank you!

Oh man, it's been awhile since I've seen this poem...
I'm glad you liked the third stanza. I really took a risk there with the imagery and wasn't sure if it would be at all effective.

It's okay--sometimes I re-read poems and die a little inside. ^^

Oh, well don't worry; the imagery worked out just fine. It was all sticky and oily and smelled amazing.

Yeah, that's me all the time. I guess the only real cure for that is to write more (which I badly need to do...). Quantity leads to quality and all that.

Thanks, I'm glad.

In writing, at least. I've been writing poetry/prose since I was a wee child (9 years old), although I haven't improved much. XD

Heh, I'm sure that's not true.

I wrote when I was young, though most of it was journaling. I can't recall writing much poetry at all, although at the same time I can't remember my first poem, so I assume I must have been fairly young.

I've been writing since I was really little...at 5 I wrote my first story about a unicorn. Yeah...

I've tried journaling, but I always get frustrated when I have nothing to say. XD

Ha! Oh unicorns...

I would just write about my day and anything else that came into my mind while I was writing. My problem with it always was that I would try to record everything. I'd inevitably get behind, and then I'd get so frustrated. I've always been so scared of forgetting. Now I journal off and on, and I'm not so intense about it. But man, those things are interesting and informative, but hopelessly embarrassing to look back on.

Oh God, looking back on journals is a thing worthy of self-slapping. XD I suppose I can relate to the missing-a-detail feeling--for me, it felt like if I missed something I was doing it wrong, but I didn't have anything to say. It was rather frustrating.

Yeah, definitely!

Ooh, that would be frustrating. I guess that's why writing stories worked better for you.
The problem with journaling is it only ever scratches the surface of your thoughts. You'd have to write forever to record even most of them. And still things would be lost.

Oh the frustration! Seems a common theme for my life.

I think it's a common theme for humanity.

Yeah...journaling wasn't really my thing. Although, sometimes I journal poems. :v

Yes, probably!

How so? Like poems somehow related to yourself? (More so than other poetry, I guess.)

Basically. They're just poems that have insight to my current feelings or situations. I have posted a few of them on my account.
