Description Flickering candlelight:
Happiness?
Maybe. Because candlelight makes shadows dance
And smells of wax
And cosiness.
While wicks burn,
Things can hide.
We gaze into each other's eyes
And see soft, flashing reflections
Of almost-happiness.

It's good enough.

Electric light:
Dazzling, it burns
Garish images into eyelids.
And while the current hums
Nothing is hidden.
And staring into each other's eyes.
We only see sharp reflections
Of ourselves.

And it isn't good enough.
(Mirrored broken souls
Never are.)

I'm not sure what the poem is about, a possible background.
But i feel the theme may be light and the cold/sterile feel of a light that is fluorescent versus a more calming, lively candle.

I like this very much, it is the truth; of course. I notice this in everyday, including sunlight. Good work, and a very interesting idea. I do like it.
