Description
This is my presentation board for my Advanced Modeling class. I have mixed feeling about this: I'm happy with it because it's my first human character I've modeled, but I'm not happy because I know I could have done better. The poses are really stiff and that was the most frustrating part of this. I had this rigged nicely, but I must have done something wrong because the rig broke. The lighting is pretty weak too. I've still a lot to learn about lighting.Programs used:
Autodesk Maya 2008
Headus UV Layout Pro
Pixologic Zbrush 3.1
Photoshop CS3
Time:
Modeling- About 8 hours
Texturing- About 5 hours
Sculpt for Normal Map- About 4 hours
Lighting- About 30 min

It is good. You shouldn't feel bad about it, your skills will only improve and now you know techniques which will make the process easier, faster and in turn, you will turn out a better product.

Thank you. You are certainly correct about future work, no doubt about it. All it falls on is practice.

Yay! I finally got off my lazy butt and checked my updates! Seriously dude, this is freaking amazing! I'm not kidding when I say that. The lighting on the last two are amazing! (the only thing I have to say is the the background isn't as shiny as the lighting on her skin where her skin is reflecting the sun.) But that's all I see. Keep it up and our going places dude. (dude?!

Thank you, dudette. The background is just a texture on a sphere. The lighting pretty much doesn't affect that so that's why it doesn't match up. However I had to toss something in or else it just renders a flat color.

Rather amazing, especially since it's your first human character. I like the one where she's sitting on the outcropping - she looks really relaxed.

Thank you. That was actually the most frustrating pose to fix. I had to keep rendering from different views to find the one with the least amount of mistakes showing.

You're welcome. Frustration fed into an excellent final then, it does look great.
