Description I actually had a small amount of leisure time today, so I colored the Naruto pic in my gallery. I also added a background cause it looked a little bland. Anyway, I'm pretty happy with this pic. Enjoy.

+EDIT+
I was sorting shit out cause I haven't logged on in a while and I realized I placed this in the wrong category. Sorry folks.

It does look like a fish. And yeah, it still look like something from One Piece...the color did nothing for that.

Thank you. It's just a grass brush. Photoshop practically does everything for you.

Yes. Photoshop must be a wonderful thing huh? I can't seem to find it anywhere near me though. I did find Paint Shop Pro...*is broke*

I think you've got to order photoshop if you want to buy it. I've never seen it in any store, and I think you have to be pretty damn well off to afford the full version. Paint Shop Pro is actually pretty good, but I haven't gotten a chance to use it much.

Okay, now I feel envious. That color's amazing and the background great! Need to get practicing ^^

Thank you. This is pure experimentation. I'm still muddling my way through photoshop. I have yet to color any two pictures in the same method. But yeah, in my summation practice is all you need. Just tinker around with all the features in whatever program you use and at least see what they do.

You're welcome. Digital is most definitely an interesting experience.

I'm glad I'm not the only one new to it. It seems like it's all that anyone ever really does anymore.

I really only switched to digital art for color. I couldn't figure out markers or colored pencils for the lfe of me. All I was doing was ruining my lineart. I don't think I'll ever do my lineart in photoshop because it doesn't feel natural to me. Unless I find a good teacher, I don't think I'll be trying traditional coloring methods anymore.

The easiest way to learn how to use colored pencils/markers/etc... is to make a copy of the original, either on a copier or by hand. A window works great if you don't have a light table. But, there are a lot of people who can't do color with traditional means, and quite obviously, you are rather excellent at using the computer. I don't really have the patience for the computer- but I need the skill, so I have to keep going ^__^

I'd kill my mouse if I tried drawing directly into the computer...

I actually didn't think of that. I just bought a light box last week for my animation class, so I should try that. Thank you for the kind words on my digital skill. I started off drawing with my mouse in paint. Then I eventually got a wacom and I will NEVER return to using a mouse, even though the wacom is kinda hard to control.

I always wondered about those Wacom Tablet things. I don't think I really want to draw on the computer though. My scanner works great, and I like having the originals in my hands.

You're welcome too, by the way

I couldn't agree more. Computers crash too easily. I find people to be more reliable with maintaining hard copies of their work.
