I Will Not Bow

Part One

Dark clouds drift over my head, over this ravaged land. It didn't used to be like this. It used to be bright and warm, birds used to fly overhead and sing their normally jubilant song, raising everyone's spirits. We never used to be governed; we used to go by spontaneous order. It was simpler that way; no man had too much power, no woman had too little. That was until that horrid "Day of Black", is had come to be called, the day when Black Doom arrived. With his army no one stands a chance. Unless the underground can come up with a plan...? Maybe if we find the seven servers? Then super...?That's if we can get the seven. I shake my head, rejecting the idea. We're doomed.

Pacing through the underground's base, I explain my idea to my friend, Icen, the red female echinda. She'd been my friend for as long as I can remember and I knew she would listen to any idea I came up with, no matter how stupid it was. She nodded as she listened to me speak of the seven Chaos Emeralds, making sure to take time to lick her sucker. When I finished she sat straight up in her chair and said, "Kyro,you're my friend and all, but you're crazy. How in the world are we suppose to find the Chaos Emeralds without Doomy, Mr. Ice, or Dolly finding out?"

"Er... I hadn't gotten to that part yet."

Icen shook her head. "Why not talk to Blue? Maybe he will help you, but I won't. Even though I'm your friend, I'm not crazy." With that, she left, leaving me alone in the empty room.

Taking Icen's advice, I went to find our leader, Sonic the hedgehog. Like I had figured, he was in the other room, talking with his closest friend, Miles "Tails" Prower. I knocked on the door frame when I entered to catch their attention. Both of them turned to face me. "Yes," Sonic replied, "What is it, Kyro?"

"I have an idea." I said and then got to explaining my idea, which Ice thought was crazy, to my leader. I explained how we would go out and, somehow, find the seven Chaos Emeralds and then anyone who could would turn super and we'd attack Black Doom, Mephiles, and Tails Doll like that. I also managed to add in the part of not knowing how to locate the servers or how to get them without the Black Arms' attention.

When I finished Sonic was nodding his head, taking in what I had just explained. "Sounds simple enough." He finally said. I just stared at him, bewildered. "Huh?" I asked, "How are we suppose to locate the emeralds?" Sonic motioned to Miles. "Tails has a device that can track the emeralds."

"Yeah," Miles chimed in, pulling out a small device, "I have it right here."

The thing wasn't very big and could be held in one hand, easy to keep away if the Black Arms decided to come after us, with a green, circular screen with a grid. It must not have been on because nothing was flashing.

"When will we start?" I asked.

"Right now." Sonic decided.
