After a week and a half of deliberations (should I change it? Should I leave it be?) and procrastination (been too busy to post!), here it is...
Um. Well, this is my second photomanip, but this one was a bit of an experiment in contrast and composition... It was my goal to see just what I could do with the positioning of objects, to see if I could compose a vaguely realistic image. Key word there is vaguely. I'm not too sure I succeeded with realism, though. o_o
It was originally rendered in greyscale to emphasize the contrast, but then I decided to sort of push the pic further in a film-ish direction. I borrowed from the one time I worked an old film projector (the film was grey, but looked brownish on the background we were projecting on, and it was incredibly grainy in a very subtle sort of way) and added a pseudo-sepia tint and sort of roughed it up a bit, although the figure is rather untouched--interpret it as you will, I'll remain rather silent about what I intended when I did that.
This pic was good practise, although it looks like I cheated on the whole cutting/blending thing, and then made it fuzzy to compensate... But I didn't, I swear! Although, I got a bit enthusiastic with my layering, I'll admit that.
Overall, I think I like it. Even though it turned out to bear incredibly harsh contrast, is a bit fuzzy, and the responses I've gotten from those I've prodded for opinions thus far have been less than lukewarm ("Well... Uh... Um... It's a picture... Of a girl... Walking away? Ah...")...
Suggestions for improvement are very much appreciated... I'm still just learning when it comes to photomanips. ^_^

Being random rocks! I love being crazy... ^_^ It's so much more fun than being sane! Random people are so much more fun to talk to, because they think about things in truly awesome ways. It's awe-inspiring.
That way, when you have a conversation about something really weird, like... Parallel universes... With crazy people, you end up with all sorts of rocking cool theories about perpendicular universes and concentric circles... And dodos. Lots and lots of dodos.

I actually like the fuzziness of the manipulation, besides the rustic feel, it adds a haunting tone overall. The sepia tone works well for the film feel you were going for and our stock looks great in this manipulation. If this is just your second, your future works will be more than promising.
