FILLER POST DUE TO ART BLOCK :

An older sketch of one 4 sapient species in the Spine, I never got around to making it into a full ref, but I will eventually! All four have had set designs for ages, but I haven't had the time or energy to draw them.

Since this isn't colored, Sarnids generally have darker skin tones and paler brown fur to help against sun damage - the two in the sketch are specific story characters, Yio on the left is an olive-cream with slight striping + grayish brown and Greste on the right is tortoiseshell. These guys normally wear clothes to cover skin (for modesty, not necessity - males cover upper body, females lower and in formal settings, arms) but since this was intended to be a ref, they don't have any here.

Sarnids are probably the most animalistic/mammalian of the bunch, and also one of the oldest (correlation? Probably. They're maybe 3-4 years old now? Idr. The others have more alien/semi-realistic designs imo, gotta doodle them more). Humans often call them "kitties" for this reason, and their short stature doesn't help there (average 1.3-1.5m tall). They've got a ridiculous amount of lore but I won't spam it here. Want to save it for art I probably won't have time to make
