"Shiya!" Gryphon's rough voice hollered. "Rypht!" A flurry of snow blasted him in the face, pushing him back. "Blast it all!" He spat. "WHERE ARE YOU GUYS!" The bronze male fought his way through the blizzard, eyes half closed. Tucking his head down against his chest he plowed onward, his muscular build aiding him. The towering, bronze beast was quickly growing frustrated. He had been separated from Shiya early into the storm and had been unable to find her since. Trusting that Rypht's daughter could handle herself he moved on, calling her and his brother's name all the way. Gryphon shook out his mane, trying to rid it of the snow that caked his frill and shoulders. It did no good. The moment he dislodged a small patch, more snow replaced it. He had long since given up trying to catch his brother's scent. At this point he wondered if he would even make it back to their camp at all, or if he would have to wait out the storm in some scant shelter. Then he remembered how long his brother had been out here. His concern for Rypht caused him to forget his own well being as he continued to search. They had to find him. Barring his teeth he fought onward. "Rypht!" He shouted, his throat growing raw.

"Gryphon?!" He thought he heard a voice yell back. But the sound was whipped away from his ears by the screaming wind. "Rypht!" There it was again, a sound in reply to his. He moved towards where he thought it was coming from, shouting his brother's name. Then he heard it, the familiar chords of his elder brother calling out to him. His heart leaped. Rushing forward he charged through the deep drifts. The blurry shape of another ket became visible in the snowstorm. He let out an exclamation of joy as he slammed into the other, tackling them to the ground as he let out happy chuffing and growling noises. The other did not take the boisterous greeting so kindly. He snarled and shoved Gryphon away. Confused the male opened his eyes. He found himself looking into the irritated face of an old ket with elk horn. With a cry of alarm he jumped back uttering apologies as he dipped his head. He could have sworn he had heard his brother. His heart sank. Had he been hearing things?

Then a weight slammed into him. He hit the snow as the brown mass purred, rubbing its cheek against his own. Gryphon smiled as the scent of Rypht washed over him. Auric let out a happy call as he dropped onto Gryphon. "Where did you come from?" Rypht asked, as they broke apart. "How did you find me?" Gryphon tried to reply when the original ket he had tackled cleared his throat. "This is good and all, but we have a serious matter to attend to. We are losing our trail." Rypht's face grew grim. Gryphon instantly recognized the serious expression. "What's wrong?"

"I'll fill you in as we walk. Did anyone else come you?" Rypht said, falling in beside Taunren. Gryphon fell in step. "Shiya was with me, but we became separated in the storm." Rypht lips pursed and a new light of worry entered his eyes. He was her father, of course he would be concerned. "She can handle herself, I have no doubt she is okay." Gryphon answered. Rypht nodded, but that look never left his face. He would continue to worry until he saw her again. Compartmentalizing his emotions, Rypht began explaining what had happened since he had been trapped in the storm. Gryphon listened. Noting for the first time how the storm seemed to blow around them. Interesting.

His eyes widened when Rypht spoke of finding the Winter King and the attack of the mutated monsters. Now he understood why Rypht was so concerned about Shiya being out in the this storm alone. In normal circumstances that girl could handle herself in the worst of elements. Now that he knew an enemy was out there in this mess. Still.... She was Rypht's daughter. The girl had spunk and wit, she knew how to keep her head down as well. That coat of her's was also useful in this weather. He looked down at the snow eyeing the blackness that covered the snow like a heavy soot or oil. Despite the heavy snow it had not been covered up so quickly. It hissed in contact, like the two elements were at odds with one another. But he saw that is some places the sheer amount of snow falling had begun to cover the black stuff. If they delayed too long it would be completely lost. They did have to hurry. He spied Rypht looking off into the distance out of the corner of his eye. His brother's eyes searching for something. He knew that he was hoping to spy Shiya. But the likelihood that he would pick out her form among the white was slim.

Taunren set a hard pace. The elder male's face was contorted in a mixture of worry, fury, and something else. The bronze picked out how ever now and again his steps seemed to falter a bit. It was like he fighting against himself, running out a steam before determination pressed him to move on through what ever it was. That was concerning. The younger male continued to watch the other fellow, wondering if he would be fit enough to fight when they got there. Sensing that he was being watch Taunren met Gryphon's gaze. They held each other's gaze for several seconds. The fire in his eyes put that worry to rest. Gryphon knew that this ketucari would fight till the bitter end to protect his king. The years had trained him to overcome many obstacles. What ever was wrong he would not give in until his mission had been accomplished. Only until his king was e, he would not fall.
