The four kets had to blink as their eyes adjusted to the light. What they saw when they could see once more was disturbing. Hundreds of those strange monkey, filled the edges of the circular room. The roof was open, revealing the raging storm outside, that moaned and howled with all of its fury. Yet within the place remained clear of any snow or weather. Fires, black as night, burned everywhere flooding the room with a blue light. In the center was a raised dais where an alter stood, magical ruins embossed into the stone. Ikhanya let out a muffled gasp. Kosuyu shook with rage beside her as their gazes fell upon their beloved leader. Tauratu lay atop the alter, bound in rough cords. His breath was shallow and quick as he feverishly fidgeted. The storm wailed as his powers streamed out of control, the magic within him trying to combat the poison that sought to claim his life. Both Ulrich and Rawlings remained unaffected by the sight of the great king laid so low. They were busy trying to figure out a tactical advantage. They were outnumbered four to one. It wasn't looking good. Both knew of the stories of the great ketucari that could control the raging storms of winter. Such a formidable foe that even the gods did not dare tangle with. Both frowned. They were not impressed. Had he been in better condition Tauratu would have been a valuable ally in this fight they were no doubt going to end up being in. But he was out of the fight before it had even begun. How unfortunate. Both of the Narbe members looked at one another, and smiled. Rawlings flexed her claws while Ulrich rolled his shoulders in anticipation. They were looking forward to this. Keeping to what shadows remained, the four fanned out.

They didn't need to hide. All eyes were focused on the open sky. A low chant began rising from the demons. "Tiem, Tiem, Tiem." The chant started low, growing in volume as the anticipation mounted. Then a low, rumbling roar cut through the storm. A cheer rose from the crowd. Slowly, a dark form slunk out of the biting winds. The kets stopped dead in their tracks. Rising over the edge of the opening in the ceiling, was a hulking black form. The lesser deity looked like a mass of black smoke. His form moved on all fours, reminiscent of a bear, slow and halting. Its head was massive, flat and shaped vaguely like that of an adder. Though they could not really tell how it actually looked as it seemed to shift and change like smoke. Only its massive white fangs protruding from its mouth, and its hollow, white eyes were solid definitions to this smoking monster. It lumbered over the side of the wall, falling into the room with a loud thud. It bulky body seemed to spread out upon the impact before reforming into its general shape. As the smoke billowed from its mass it caused the flames to sputter. It minions stepped back, bowing reverently as it moved forward. As it walked the four kets noted how some of the smoke would seem to gather together and fall off of Teim's body. Hitting the ground these clouds solidified until another oily, mutant rose from the ground. They would look around before they scurried away to join their brethren in worshipping their creator.

Teim slowly looked around before moving towards Tauratu's twitching form. It seemed that all of his movements were slow, Ulrich thought.  Even still, this just got a lot harder. Kosuyu ground his teeth in frustration as Ikhanya looked on in despair. They were too far away to get to their king in time. Tiem lowered his head and sniffed the bound ket's fur. The air between the two beings steamed and sparked, as if their very existence was at odds with one another. "Tauratuuuuu, it haass been so looooooong." A voice, like unto an eerie keen of the wind breathed all around them. Every hair and feather on the four slayer's necks rose at the disembodied voice. "Most blessssed and truuusted of Ssseijalkaaaa. I will reclaaaaim the powersss you sstole from meeee." The crowd hooted and scream their support. Tiem raised its head, the voice raising around them. "My children, todaaay we reclaim ooour throne!" More cheering erupted from the offspring of this foul beast. "Ssseijalkaaaa will pay for his betrayaaaal with his liffffe!"

No one heard Kosuya or Ikhanya's snarls of fury. All four kets charged as the mass of Tiem dipped his head down, his jaws gapping open to swallow the form of Tauratu. They tore through the crowd of demons, who cried in alarm at the attack. But the masses were to great, they would never reach the king in time. A thunderous roar split the air. Unlike before it was not the call of the fallen deity. Taunren fell from the sky, landing atop Tiem, his claws finding something solid beneath the smoke. He viciously tore as his jaws snapped at the god's shoulders. An ear splitting scream filled the room as Tiem reared back. Two more forms leaped from the edge of the opening in the roof, landing atop the thrashing being. Rypht and Gryphon assaulted the deity alongside Taunren. Tiem reared back, it feet trampling several of its offspring. Seeing their creator in trouble all of the demons turned away from the other attackers and rushed to help. The devotes and their helpers pursued the mutants, felling several. But their attempts barely made a dent in the swarm that was charging for Taunren and the others atop Tiem. The black mass of demons scaled their god and attacked. The three slayers bravely fought atop the trashing deity. Rypht and Gryphon were both familiar with fighting against a god. THough they had never fought enemies atop a rampaging one before, all of the bodies that had been at the war with Hainlian had been their for the same reason. Auric snarled atop Rypht as the clawed the face of one of the deformed beings as it tried to attack Rypht from behind.

The little Hianlian was every bit as ferocious as the full fledge god. But he was small, and they were all greatly outnumbered. The three kets were forced off of Tiem as they struggled against the sheer numbers. On the ground the other joined them as they surrounded Tautaru in a pitiful defense. The beasts were not all that hard to defeat, their forms were weak. But whenever they defeated one, three more took its place. Tiem let out a venomous hiss as he glared at those who dared to defy him. His children backed up, their laughter filling the room like the sound of twisted thunder. Taunren was breathing heavily, the poison beginning to take its toll. Tiem rushed them, his hulking form moving dangerously fast. Taunren and Kosuyu leaped forward to meet him mid charge. Teeth and claws flashed as the god missed its attack while the smaller, more agile kets landed blows to its head before being force back by a swipe from a heavily clawed paw. The others moved to help, but Tiem's children surged forward.

Taunren faltered, the poison slowing his steps. Tiem struck, his massive jaws grabbing hold of the old warrior's hind leg. The slayer let out a roar of pain as he fought against the deity's iron grip. Tiem flicked his head, sending the brown silkie flying. He slammed into a charging Kosuyu. Both flew back, hitting the wall in a tangle heap. Ikhanya let out a cry of alarm at seeing her comrades so easily brushed aside. The two males struggled to regain their breath and footing. Taunren forced his body to move, his breath coming if heavy gasps. He would not go down. Driven on by his sheer will he got to his feet beside Kosuyu. The younger ket was favoring his left side where he had hit the wall at full force. Something had been broken or bruised. Each breath was so painful and he did his best not to t take deep intakes of air. Despite this he stood ready to continue the fight as Tiem loomed over them. The dark being raised a paw to deal a death blow when two more forms slammed into its side.
