Tiem barked in surprise at the impact, his great claws missing Taunren by a whisper's length. Auric let out a happy trill when he spotted the familiar form of Shiya alongside that of an opal female. The surprise attack knocked Tiem away from the two males. It staggered then fell to the ground, smashing into the wall with a crash. Great cracks appeared in the stone from the impact as the entire building shook. "Aiesa!" Kosuyu called in relief, instantly regretting it. Taunren did not waste his breath as he rushed the enemy. His gate was uneven but determined as he joined the two females in their attack.
Again the small smokelings chattered in fear and rushed to aid their god. "Quickly." Rypht said, heaving Tauratu up by the scruff. Ikhanya nodded her understanding as Gryphon moved to help Rypht place the king atop the charcoal female's back. Once her king was secure she took off towards the opening they had come through earlier. Ulrich dutifully followed her, Gryphon flanking her other side. Tiem, shaking off his attackers like a dog shakes off water, roared. "Sstoop themmmm!" Black beings blocked their escape, chattering and chittering as they flashed pointed teeth and claws at the slayers. Ulrich and Gryphon broke off from Ikhanya as they plowed into the wall of bodies. They ripped and shredding, sending many smokelings to their deaths in a burst of smoke. Their numbers were dwindling. The amount of new demons emerging from Tiem's body far too slow. But the slayers were tiring. They would not be able to keep up this fight for much longer. Even with the reinforcements of Shiya and Aiesa, they were being backed into a corner. "Enoooough!" Tiem's voice hissed around them. Opening his great mouth the deity breathed out. A thick, black cloud billowed out of the gaping maw. Acrid and choking in rolled across the ground towards the god slayers. "I will not bee denied my reveeenge." The smoke reach Shiya first. She coughed and gaged as the cloud devoured the air around her, sucking it from her lungs. She felled to the earth, writhing as she fought for air. "Shiya!" Rypht cried before the smoke reached him and the others. Soon all nine of them were struggling for breath, but finding only the burning smoke. One by one they fell to their knees as the smokelings, unaffected by the cloud, closed in around them.
"Tauratu." Taunren coughed as he crawled to where Ikhanya had fallen, their king rolling limply from her back. The old warrior fell, a paws length away from the master he had faithfully served for over a century. Slowly, as if the final plea from his beloved devotee had penetrated the darkness that had surrounded his mind, the lord of winter, opened his eyes. A rush of cold wind erupted from around the king. Swirling like a vortex it blew away the black cloud, driving it from his fallen brethren's lungs. Ice encased the bands that held him bound. They snapped the moment he moved the stand. TIem's minions stepped back, fear enveloping them as the power of the storm was unleased upon them. The raging storm fell into the room. Snowflakes driven by the wind, turned to needles of ice as they rained down upon the throng of enemies. They cried out and fled in every direction. Their attempts to escape was futile as countless of their numbers were slain. None of the slayers were harmed as they, recovering from the smoke, stood. All watched in awe as the army they had struggled against was whipped out in seconds. Tiem roared. More smoke flowed from its body, rushing through the storm towards Tauratu. It solidified into sharp javelins seconds before it was about to slam into the king. With a flick of his tail the pewter ketucari summoned forth a great wall of ice.
The dark spears slammed into the ice with a loud, crack! Snorting Tauratu sent the wall of ice rushing towards Tiem. It pushed against the darkness with ease before slamming full force against the deity, pinning him to the wall. Smoke spilled out of the monster's mouth as he spluttered and fought, but the fallen god could not break free from Tauratu's ice. Tauratu strode coolly towards Tiem. Reaching its head, he spoke. "Tiem, you have committed grave crimes against myself, my devotees, and Seijalka. Our great lord was merciful to you the last time you betrayed him. He let you leave with your life, warning you what would happen should you show your face in these lands again." The god spat. More spikes flew towards Tauratu. Ice shot up from the ground, snagging each weapon mid flight before crushing them. Tauratu didn't even blink as he looked gravely at the once great deity. Most trusted of Seijalka. The previous being entrusted with ushering in the winter for their world, until it became intoxicated by his power and sought to encase the world in an endless winter. It was Tauratu that had aided Seijalka in reigning in the berserk Tiem. Seijalka had bestowed that power unto Tauratu in gratitude. Unlike Tiem the great slayer had never taken advantage of the trust extended to him by Seijalka. Seeing that Tiem would not submit, nor would he stop pursuing him Tauratu sighed. "Very well." With one final command the blades sprung from the wall of ice pinning Tiem, embedding themselves into the deity's side. Tiem let out one final scream before falling still. The storm around the storm died away and all became still. Tauratu looked a the dissolving form of Tiem with a note of sadness. Without a land to be bound to, the deity would not reincarnate. It would die, and never return. Its existence long forgotten by all but the ten kets here. Turning, Tauratu looked upon those who had come to his rescue. His faithful devotes, and the strangers who had fought beside them. A warm, grateful smile lifted his solemn features.
