Still, there are things you need to find out. Like interest. If you don't like drawing, you can't "create" yourself to like that. You need to find out what you really like. Like music. It's all already set in your DNA.
But hey, it's all opinion. Cheers for a message well said with confidence.

I think they intended it to be on a more profound level rather then what we physically can/can't do.

Well, "interest" is a broad subject which reaches the profound level too. Like, love interest or sexual interest. Basically you can't "create" yourself to like something, you need to find out what you do like.

Physically someone is attracted to another person. So Sexual Orientation is physical rather then mental.
And depending on what your interests are, you can then create yourself to feed those interests.
For example, a lazy person may wish they were more active. So through hard work, they can become active. We have a lot more choice in our lives then we give ourselves credit for.
But anyway, it's late my time, so I don't know how much of that actually made sense. It all makes sense in my head, haha.

True, but you can still be who you want to be. Life is about choice, and that's what the author meant, I'm sure.
At least that's how I took it.

Haha, oh. Well, you know how the internet makes it impossible for others to read your tone, so I'm sorry. (You know there are plenty of people who would say that seriously!)

That's actually a very interesting idea. I have spent the last few years "finding" myself, and I've realized recently that you can't just settle for "finding" yourself because 1) you can't completely "know" about yourself in the first place, and 2) life is always changing you somehow. So you're right; life is about self-creation.

And creating yourself is so much more fun than "finding" yourself

existentialism is alright but it leads away from the fact that there is a definite nature of the human condition. we aught to attempt to discover what is truly best/right before we just start "creating ourselves" without the knowledge of what we are.

Excellent quote. Sums up all that I've been trying to do for the last year. It really speaks to me.
