Wow does this guy got an interesting "behind the scenes" story. He's one of the few characters I've ever helped create from a phone conversation.

Long story short, I gave Estan Keeler a call like I would often do, and he starts telling me about a character he invented with his mom of all people. He described to me the seventh son of a seventh son, one which was born in a graveyard on halloween. The twist though? He was a good guy. So, as Estan really had no idea what story to put him in, I asked if I could design the character. I was watching Castle in the Sky with my dad (Which had no real influence on the drawing, it just happened to be on the TV at the time) while sitting down and thinking about what the creepiest villain look would be. I though of the old Irish holiday "Sam haim", and eventually came up with the name SARHAIM. When I showed Estan the drawing at the mall, he loved it, name and all. We discussed the possibilities of connecting it to a character William and I were developing called KARBREAKER, and the rest was history.
