They would have nerve reactions to feel pain but would have it capped to prevent pain based shock from inhibiting their actions.
In the case of post horrible injury like limb loss they probably have the pain objectively 'Turned off' so they can't feel it. However phantom pain is a thing that anything intelligent can feel and it is simply distressing to notice that a limb is actively missing.
