So to start off, you did an amazing job with the old man! The whole two-faced sort of look gives a hidden nature, or corruption sort of symbolism to it. The dreary coloring also helps give a dark, gloomy vibe. You rendered the skin, wrinkles, and tendrils very well too. It looks quite realistic. I think the wrinkles in the forehead are too creased, though. They look more like scars instead of wrinkles. That's my only criticism when it comes to the old man, now onto main criticism, which is the background.
On its own, it looks good. The pink clouds and hearts raining down look dreamy and soft, and contrast well with the stormy clouds on the right side. I think it could use more storm clouds though. When you look at pictures of a storm, the sky is covered with dark clouds. It would also make the transition between the two sides a bit more seamless if you added some clouds flowing in between.
But when put next to this portrait of an old man, with a gorey half-face, it just doesn't seem to fit with it, even if they do share similar themes. When i see the background, I think of love and heartbreak. The old man makes me think of corruption, or someone hiding their darker nature. Maybe there's some context I'm missing, but this is just my thoughts seeing this on the surface level. I also see that there's a title over the man's head, and I kinda feel that it's just there. The only way to improve that would be to make it bigger, but then that would mean you would have to make the portrait of the old man smaller.
And that is the end of my comment. Despite my comments about the background clashing with the old man, I do think you did a great job overall. I hope you find my comment useful to you and keep up the good work!
