Um, I've got an odd question . . . I've recently started doing illustrations to go with some stories I'm working on (neither are professional by any stretch of the imagination), but I have problems with drawing the pointed ears I need for one boy who is a dragon in disguise (For lack of a better way of putting it at the moment; and no, that's not how it's phrased in the story.). I was wondering if you would mind if I used your ears for reference while I practice. I've never drawn ears like this before, and I wanted to ask before I do it. (I'm NOT trying to steal your art, nor do I plan to take credit for it, but I need something to look at to go by when I'm first starting out. And if you say no, please be gentle. I feel really bad about asking you about this . . .)

I don't have much experience with drawing anatomically correct ANYTHING, so . . . Heh, yeah. All my friends give me weird looks when I ask to draw their ears and noses as practice. (I can't imagine why. <-*sarcasm*) So pictures and the Internet are my only sources for practice images . . .

Beautiful, exquisite work - beautiful lighting, and wonderful expressiveness. Nimri's expression is wonderfully evocative, and Morgan's doubly so for only being partially visible. The part where all the furs are coming off him to reveal him bare probably has all kinds of vulnerability and honesty symbolism, right?
My only complaint - and that's after looking at this picture for some time - is that the backlighting against Morgan's head and the furs over his back looks rather... crude. Too thick and blurry, light bouncing off thin air. That kind of bluriness looks just right when it's right in front of the light source, but at that angle, all you should be able to see would be finely glistening backlit fur and hair strands and such.

Yeah, you're right...there are a lot of errors in this. ^__^; It was more of a "speedpaint," and far from polished or properly finished. I might go back one day and really paint this, but for now I just wanted to get the mood and idea down.
