A handful of study sketches of the Fifth Doctor that I had completely forgotten about! Stumbled across these in my forgotten scraps folder, so I fixed them up (slightly) to share on Patreon, and now here. Peter Davison's face is really hard to get right!The symbols on his face in the middle sketch are inspired by Omega's mask in the TV ep "Arc of Infinity," in which Omega's essence was merged with Five for a time.
The bottom painting is inspired from Five's very first episode "Castrovalva," in which he kept falling over and crashing throughout in various ways because Four's regeneration was terribly wonky and very nearly failed. Talk about post-regeneration sickness/trauma! I angst about Eight a lot, but Five had a pretty rough start, too.

I love the pose you've used on that last painting. Tough perspective, and you've done it very nicely! Excellent work. Really glad you found that one and decided to share. There's not enough great Fifth Doctor fanart out there - which I guess makes sense if he's hard to draw - and I really like him.

very good indeed... I totally agree about how hard it is to get 5's face right - i have the same problem, however as a cartoonist i have perhaps the easier way around that problem, i just smooth all features out even more.
