Description
One of my very favorite My Little Ponies has always been G1 "Blossom," a cute lavender pony with purple hair and white blossoms on her bum. I also adore the "Merry-Go-Round" pony line. I finally decided to bring my two loves together and design my very own Blossom in the carousel style!Next up I hope to design a forest-inspired, nature-themed original pony (more like you'd expect from me, lol). Should also be lots of fun!
Customized by the amazing Jen Galambos!

The G1 ponies brings back a lot of memories. I remember when my mom took me an my sister to the toy store. I remember the joy of picking out a pony that we liked But then we got older and gave away all our ponies to our younger cousin. I kinda regret that now...
My main hobby is BJDs, anime and furry stuff so I don't have room for that many ponies, But I decided I need to have at least a few. So I did some nostalgia purchases. Currently I have 4 ponies but waiting for one more.
I bought them from Etsy and Ebay. Just wondering if you know of any other good places to buy G1, G2, G3 ponies from? An online pony market or something?

www.mlparena.com is the best place to find, buy/sell/trade or just chat or geek out with other pony lovers! One of my favorite places on the web.

Very elegant design. Have you checked the work of woosie.deviantart.com ? Perhaps she will have more suitable prices.

Thanks! I'm familiar with Woosie's work.
The price is very fair, it's just that I don't make enough money as an artist to be able to set anything aside from month to month to save for it. -__-;;;

Have you considered an art trade?

Yes, I asked if a trade or even a partial trade might be acceptable, but she has to earn money the same way I do, so it was not a viable option.

This is GORGEOUS! I love alt versions of the 80's ponies (especially using vintage bodies for the base) and she's a perfect example of why.

Most of her recent work is from the MLP:FiM merchandise, but Gryphyn-Bloodheart does some really amazing pony customs. She's on facebook and tumblr, too (www.facebook.com/PrincessGryph… | princessgryph.tumblr.com )
DHC's stuff is really stunning! I totally understand if you wanna hold out until you can work with them, but maybe Gryph can do for you, too! Who knows? Doesn't hurt to share info

I love this! It's nice to see someone do an OC pony that looks like the old-style ones. I think I like them better b/c they look more like real horses...

I remembered back in the day when you're pony was The Thing if it had streaked hair, lol.
Yay, for vintage ponies. Though I hate to call something I played with as a child "vintage". #gettingold

Well done. Our girls had nearly all of the G1s. The first Carousel Pony here was a surprise cake topper that I very carefully kept icing free.

It was, though not as easy to hide as the Breyer palomino foal had been that showed up on the eldest sister's cake, several years earlier (pre-G1s actually). Traditions can be crazy.

AdeleLorienne In reply to keight [2015-06-29 23:10:11 +0000 UTC]
That's an awesome tradition! I remember the older Breyers, too! They were too expensive for a poor country kid like me, but I used to daydream in front of the shelves of them displayed in toy and feed stores.

keight In reply to AdeleLorienne [2015-06-30 03:05:20 +0000 UTC]
They were way out of my reach growing up as well. I got so excited when I saw the Breyer bison at a feed and tack store! I think I remember a deer or an elk as well.

Blossom was the first My Little Pony I ever got, and she was always my favorite. I actually still have her. This is such a beautiful design for her! I love it!! I wish they would go back to the old style of these. I just don't like the newer ones as much.

AdeleLorienne In reply to Gnewi [2015-06-29 10:05:45 +0000 UTC]
Same! I do collect some of the newer characters (Fluttershy, Derpy and Doctor Whooves, lol) but the original designs have my heart. They were beautiful, they looked like ponies, so many varying poses and styles, and full of individual, whimsical charm. The newer ones are basic, cartoony deer-like figures in constantly recycled poses. The same pose over and over and over. I still buy them, but I miss the variety and creativity and beauty that the 80s ponies had.

Well that was unexpected. Lol. Super badass artist collects my little pony figures and wishes to design her own ponies. Awe. ^^
Nothing wrong with it or anything just really unexpected.
I collect the schleich animals/fantasy creatures as silly as that may seem to some. I always feel like people are judging me when I go into the toy section to look at them lmao.
I have also kept many of the "figurines" from my childhood. I can't seem to let them all go.
