Wonderful picture; My only digs would be at the mare's conformation (She's a little narrow at the ground, where her feet are beside one another; they should be the same width at the bottom as at the chest/rump...) But yeah. xD I can't draw very well, so meh. xD I just pick faults -_-; and send my congrats at a freaking awesome image that I wish I had the talent to create!!

I really like how the light is coming from behind but the horse isn't in shadow, the light of day still lights the other side. Made me think about colouring techniques and what I can work on.

When I saw this picture, I thought about this series that is still fairly new called "The Green Rider" by Kristen Britain. This reminds me of the Messenger horses and how they treated their Green riders.
If you haven't read the books and are into reading, I strongly suggest them. ^-^

Lovely art work. It reminds me of pages out of celtic illuminated scripts, or story books. And a very good job on the horse, it's a difficult thing to draw correctly. You either have been around horses, or really put some effort into studying them. The tack is well done as well.
