Oh du Wächter der Zeit
hätt' dich doch bestochen
wusste nicht die Heiterkeit
war es nicht so abgesprochen

Kannte dies' Kapitel nicht
hast es mir verschwiegen
mein Verstand zerbricht
hätte den Berg doch bestiegen

Nun jetzt sehe ich ein
es ward nicht gescheit
die Zeit ohne das Sein

Zeit heilt diese Wunden
sie kann die Heiterkeit
und das Leid aller erkunden
