Just being honest here... Why not just wear full clothes instead of showing your flesh? Im sorry if i sound rude i dont mean to sound rude at all D:

I am not sure if I am correct, but I think showing flesh actually helps with getting the body details and ankles right. ^_^

No worries! The type of stock I do is for pose reference. Ideally, a pose study in an artistic setting is nude, but I don't prefer nude references and I know other artists who don't as well. I also wish for the stock to be available to under-age artists, so I wear form fitting clothing that allows the body to be seen but without the nudity so the mature filters are not allowed.

Hope that helps

your models should wear full body suits... head to toe... im sorry but idk

AdorkaStock In reply to JoeyAktosh [2015-09-05 20:24:41 +0000 UTC]

I mean, we could, but it's not necessary. The bodysuit or two piece outfit is pretty much the same as a bathing suit so that's comfortable enough for me and meets the requirements for not needing a mature content tag.

JoeyAktosh In reply to AdorkaStock [2015-09-08 06:17:17 +0000 UTC]

like a morph suit. you can go genderless or whatever
maybe make a morph suit series... that way the hair and features are more reserved for the imagination

Nah, I think she's done an amazing job for the last 9 years and continues to do so today. It conceals enough not to interfere with reference drawing and allows her to keep her modesty at the same time. Don't change a thing Senshi!

That's pretty much opposite to your journal where you're talking about how people should practice and not just stick to drawing 'dirty poses' (whatever those are). Stock references with real people are extremely useful for learning to draw anatomy* and poses properly, and develop your own style If you only use drawn references, you're basing yourself on other peoples interpretations of rl, and their mistakes. Especially if you use manga/anime as a reference. Even if that's the style you want to draw in, it's good to know the basics too. Learn the rules before you break them ^^

Besides, when you go to the beach or a swimming pool, people wear a whole lot less than this

DaftersUnite In reply to AdorkaStock [2015-09-10 21:22:06 +0000 UTC]

And the naked/fitting clothed stuff is just a base. So even if you're drawing using a reference of an individual wearing tight-fitting clothes, I think a main reason is that you can add your own clothes into this to make this pose your own original -- of course, with credit from the lovely stock producer.
I probably misread somewhere, but don't fear when you're at art school drawing naked people -- that's actuall how you begin drawing a full body person, THEN you can go over it with clothes and such.

My input here I hope doesn't come across as negative..so I apologise in advance.

I was just curious. I wanted to ask that question. Im searching for refrences that are to my fitting. Im muslim and in our book we arent supposed to draw but i kinda broke that rule ;D; the last thing i want is to go to art school drawig naked peeps.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

AdorkaStock In reply to MangaxMango [2015-09-06 20:40:51 +0000 UTC]

Oh okay! Now I understand. A lot of art references are naked. It's the classical way to stupid and draw the form. You can actually find a lot of clothed stock in the deviantart's galleries, but it is all mixed in with the naked stuff. Still, if you have the mature content filters on, that should take care of most of it.

It's the best way of getting anatomy without actual nudity (much like you might see muscle models or clayed up models)
