Description First fielded in 2156 as a mid-range engagement long rifle chambered with 5.56, G-1 Northward were rifles issued by NakohnBahn Police carried in all manner of duties up to 2237 Era.

The design sought to honor the old styles from two hundreds years ago with classical look, while still retaining combat effectiveness by integrating Hybrid Driver technology in which the gun's barrel was lined with coils and the combustion rounds were accelerated forward after firing through the use of Electromagnetic Acceleration technology. Needless to say, a Nakohnbahn police carrying G-1 Northward was oftentimes a tourist photo material.

The rifle boasted ancient design of long rifle but with rails for mounting various equipment and modern scopes, and large clip size with semi-auto fire mode and full-auto. The late versions which had been upgraded since 2195 however boasted bigger round of 11.5 GOVT to gain advantage over modern coil rifles which were smaller and more effective by having more stopping power and penetration, in trade of smaller clip size, more recoil and the removal of full-auto mode (although a very few of them were still made with full-auto mode) and with additional long range-engagement capability. This made 5.56 variant a sought-after item by gun enthusiasts in 2237 due to its out-of-production-line nature.

One very distinctive detail about the Northward was the magazine and feeding design; the magazine offers accommodation of 'feeding rail' which was a metal rail inside a magazine used as an alternative to hand-loading during the magazine filling process for ease of labor. The magazines were workable with or without the metal feeding rails inside, but if with one the magazine would create an iconic 'pinging' sound as the feeding rail popped off the top on the last round. Some officers decided to fill magazines by hands manually due to the noise it emits which posed risk during urban ops, while some other enjoyed the sound and the ease of magazine loading (not to mention the pinging sound, while marking the user as vulnerable, still act as a trap because for other officers to catch suspects off-guard in engagement)

While not an ultra-practical CQC/urban combat weapon choice, Northwards were still honored in service by 2237s officers for its elegance. Not to mention a daredevil barging into a room clearing suspects with the Northward is still a daredevil.
