I recently got the collector's edition for Parallel Lines. I would play it but my PS2 has been broken for some time now.

Also great picture.

well not much but it does come with a very cool steelbook/slip cover with some great artwork on the interior as well as a CD of the game soundtrack.

collectorsedition.org/uploads/… except mine doesn't have a scratched-up sticker on the slip cover.

well for one reason is because as demonstrated with Driver San Francisco, most fans wanted the games to play more like how they did during Driver 1. Also because it's become a solely driving game the graphics are incredibly good. A fact that is extremely obvious in Ubisoft's new venture: The Crew. Which I can imagine will probably allow you to recreate a lot of cars from the series.

I can imagine the next Driver game will be like San Francisco gameplay wise. And admittedly I prefer that kind of game. I mean Driv3r was my first Driver game that I played but the whole time I played it, it felt off. Like the poor man's GTA. However unlike GTA there was definitely a heavier focus on cars (like a mission in nice which involved tanner stealing cars and driving them into trailers knight rider style).  With San Francisco the games no longer feel like a GTA clone and feel unique. Similarly how Saints Row 1 was a straight rip-off of San Andreas just with less focus on the serious thug/gangster life that was 90's Los Angelas. Instead they went for their own unique modern take on gangs and had fun doing it.

The same can be said with San Francisco. It feels like a "driver" game. Because you are a driver and you drive the best f*cking cars ever. Hell the movie challenges where you recreate famous car chases from films make it even better. However that said I can imagine that if Ubisoft take their time then possibly next gen they could bring back similar gameplay from Parallel Lines or 3 by having guns and parkour style sequences.

Like imagine a next-gen Driver game that features cars, graphics and world from the crew, some gameplay functions from Watch_Dogs and the on-foot free roam gameplay mechanics from Assassins Creed. Does that not sound FUCKING AWESOME!

Here are some of the cars reveled for the crew: www.igcd.net/game.php?id=10000…
Watch_Dogs info: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Watch_Do…
Assassins Creed info: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assassin…

If you don't want to read the whole wall of text just look at the second last paragraph to get the major gist of what I'm saying.

i never played the san fransisco just yet..  i thought its a bit boring because you can't get on-foot free roam or something..   but im sure you're telling me that that game is fantastic..  hmmm  i think i have to play it..  and give it a try..   because video mostly not as same as it gameplay isn't

i recently playing watchdogs..  and i really enjoyed the on-foot free roam more than vehicle free roam does..  i dunno..  watchdogs's cars a bit boring..  and not as badass as ridge racer or split second or else..

i mean..  driver is the expert.. since PS1 to PS2, atari.. bugbear.. and ubisoft are the monster of gampeplay..  even need for speed can't stand it...  if they just can make an super free roam like pararel lines does only with better graphic and storyline..  im sure..  GTA V and saintsrow 5 can't even fight it..

as far as i see..  the crew just did the same mistake just like the need for speed does..   no pedestrians..   it's feels like a ghost town..   but they have a plenty of modifications..

Personally I prefer the lack of the on-foot mechanics. Driver always did have better cars in terms of mechanics, appearance and gameplay but they certainly lacked in the on-foot department. And I feel that the series is better without it. I mean driver is now it's own unique sort of franchise were you don't need to be a jack of all trades to be the best you're the best because you're the best driver.

Also not many car focused games these days have pedestrians in it (san francisco does so I doubt they would remove them for a future installment) they don't serve much purpose other then atmosphere. And when you're doing 180+ down a highway I doubt you're thinking "huh, now where is the occasional bum on the medium. gosh without that one model of a bum the game just doesn't work." because if you're not focusing on how to pass the kid in the Lambo in front of you then their is something wrong with you.

Very nice work!

The only thing I noticed was a lack of interior in the car. I don't see the driver, seats, dash, etc.
