I've seen the Mighty MorphinΒ Power Rangers(both show & movie) & seeing that you don't know about the team, you could of have Ash as Tommy Oliver/White Ranger & May as Kimberly/Pink Ranger due to Tommy & Kimberly having a relationship in the team.
