Description A clay heart! This was my first clay thing. It was a lot more fun than I thought it was going to be. I haven't painted it yet due to lack of spare time, but I will someday.

Thanks! It took about four or five days I guess, but I only worked on it for an hour at a time. I don't know if it was a certain type of clay. It wasn't sculpey or anything, it was that wet gray stuff that you have to mush around a lot and keep moist. I've actually gotten rather attached to it in white, so I don't think I'm going to paint it.

oh, i was interested to learn the name because i want to start sculpting but not sure what kind of clay to use to make statues like what you have made. can you tell me anything about it? like where you bought it or the packaging? did you use a kiln?

I would suggest going to a pottery place, one where you actually make pots and sculptures and stuff, not one of those paint-your-own ceramics places. My sister was taking pottery lessons, and I needed a 3-D object for my portfolio, so I went there with her and made this with the help of the instructor. She provided the clay and the kiln to bake it. I really don't know anything about clay or pottery beyond that! The time that I made this is the only time I've used real clay. You could try looking in the phone book for pottery places, or searching on the internet for one in your area. Sorry I can't be of much help! Good luck!

I almost wanna be all like "do a Warhol style picture - 4 hearts, crazy colors..." but it's so pretty in white.

Ooh, I could do that in Photoshop! Neat idea! That Andy Warhol.. What a crazy fellow.

Very well done! I love how it looks in white - very ethereal and mythical.

Thank you! It took me a long time to get it really smooth. I'm planning on painting it in light, muted colors. I thought it would look better than really bright ones. I'll have to put a picture up when I get it painted.

No problem It looks like a it took a lot of time, but well worth it! I think light muted colours will be unique and look great on this. Will defiantly check out the finished product
