Description
yay its finally finished.im really happy with the way this came out, it was just the result of picing up odd pieces that caught my eye and putting them together in a way i found aesthetic.
tried to make it to the gears turn but couldnt, so glued them.
when it was finished i added a chestnut inkwash to add sort of an aged look and bring out the recesses

Awesome! I really enjoy the thin piece of metal off the side. It really gives balance to the piece.

That's fascinating. I think DA is subtly trying to convince me to start reading steampunk.
(BTW, I like the summary and disclaimer as well!)

Brilliant work, I love the colours and the shape of this piece. If you could find an antique bail or and antique looking bail to add to the top of the piece I think it would really make it. Unfortunately the wire takes away from this pieces charm. I absolutely love it though the concept is very innovative. Wonderful work!

hehe thanks ^^
ive been looking back at this and im not pleased with the wire bail anyway, im thinking of either doing as you say, and finding a nice looking one, or making a new wone from nicer wire, and will come out better now as ive got better at making them.
i may be making this into a fob too for my pocket watch

Why does everyone feel like they need a disclaimer about not breaking a clock?

Aethergoggles In reply to NycterisA [2008-03-09 16:08:25 +0000 UTC]
because i have some acquaintances that would cry if they knew i'd destroyed an antique watch that could actually be fixed

I just find it odd that so many people bother with that disclaimer. I mean if I diassembled old jewelry to use the beads over again I wouldn't think twice.
Anyway it's a very nice piece!
