EDIT: In the .zip-file, you can find also the pics for the panel and conky background.

Download and use the "liquid rescale" plugin for GIMP [link] to adjust the panelbackground to your screen resolution. Debian/Ubuntu users can use:

sudo apt-get install gimp-plugin-registry

Of course. I edited the Deviation. You can download now the .zip-file which includes the background pics. By the way, I used Inkscape for this pictures, that's much faster.

Yes, it's just a gnome panel (or acctually two ). Just set it to transparent and merge your favourite panel background with your Wallpaper (e.g. with GIMP). As mentioned, I use two panels to get it away from the border. The upper panel is completely empty, the elements are in the lower one.
